COURSE CURRICULUM

Over the duration of this online short course, you’ll work through the following modules:

Module 1
Blockchain technology today

Identify the features of blockchain technology and its commercial use cases.

Module 2
Distributed ledgers and smart contracts

Explore the applications of distributed ledger technology (DLT) and smart contracts, and discover how to mint your own token.

Module 3
Commercial applications

Analyse how blockchain can be commercially applied within your business or industry context.

Module 4
Possible and permissible

Examine the ethics and regulations surrounding blockchain technology, and the impact stakeholders may have on the implementation process.

Module 5
Blockchain resources and architecture

Assess the resources and architecture required to implement blockchain technology, as well as the possible impact of the broader economy on your implementation.

Module 6
Preparing for the pitch, a credible blockchain proposal

Formulate and finalise a use-case proposal for the commercial application of blockchain technology.

Phil Woods is the founder and CEO of the Abele Group, a Singapore-based FinTech firm focused on delivering advanced technological solutions in financial services. He teaches courses on blockchain and distributed ledger technology use cases through the National University of Singapore (NUS) Advanced Computing for Executives (ACE) FinTech Lab. Prior to the Abele Group, he spent 15 years working in financial services at UBS Investment Bank and Citigroup. Phil is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, where he studied history and civil engineering. He also served as a US Army Aviation Officer prior to embarking upon a corporate career.
