The AI in Finance: Delivering Business Value online short course from the National University of Singapore (NUS) Advanced Computing for Executives (ACE) equips you with the knowledge to manage the design, development and deployment of AI solutions in your context. Over six weeks, you’ll dive into the fundamentals of AI and data science in the financial sector. Guided by expert NUS ACE faculty, you’ll gain insight into planning and managing AI project risks by taking into account ethical considerations and regulatory compliance requirements. You’ll also unpack the concepts and principles of AI in a financial business context. Finally, you’ll learn how to predict future AI trends. ABOUT THE CERTIFICATE

Earn a digital certificate of professional achievement from the National University of Singapore (NUS) Advanced Computing for Executives (ACE) as recognition of your newly developed skills.

Assessment is continuous and based on a series of practical assignments completed online. In order to be issued with your digital certificate, you’ll need to meet the requirements outlined in the course handbook. The handbook will be made available to you as soon as you begin the course.

Your digital certificate will be issued in your legal name and sent to you upon successful completion of the course, as per the stipulated requirements.

Sarat Mohanty

Sarat Mohanty has three decades of senior leadership experience at corporate enterprises across Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Europe and the Americas. His core competencies include technology consulting, delivering and monetising corporate banking technology solutions, digital transformation in banking, banking as a service (BaaS), API banking, fintech platform integration, business process re-engineering, blockchain, application engineering, ERP rollout and fintech advisory. Sarat’s domain expertise includes banking pre-sales, working capital management, and cash and treasury management. He now teaches digital transformation in financial institutions, blockchain, AI and quantum computing, supply chain finance and supply chain sustainability at NUS.

Zaid Hamzah

Zaid Hamzah

Executive Education Fellow, Advanced Computing for Executives (ACE), National University of Singapore (NUS) School of Computing

Zaid Hamzah is a data and AI practitioner with over 35 years of professional experience in the converged fields of technology, law and finance. He has previously served as Microsoft's director for intellectual property and commercial software; and as Senior Legal Advisor to Singtel’s joint venture with Warner Bros and Sony Pictures. He is also a board member of NIE International. The author of nine books covering IP/IT law, technology commercialisation, intellectual property and financing, Zaid has in-depth experience and all-round corporate and commercial exposure in Singapore and Southeast Asia. Zaid holds a law degree from the National University of Singapore and completed his master's in international relations at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Tufts University on a Fulbright scholarship. He currently runs programmes on AI innovation management, intellectual property rights in AI innovation and commercialisation of AI innovation at NUS.

In order to complete this course, you’ll need a current email account and access to a computer and the internet, as well as a PDF Reader. You may need to view Microsoft PowerPoint presentations, and read and create documents in Microsoft Word or Excel.

We recommend that you use Google Chrome as your internet browser when accessing the Online Campus. Although this isn’t a requirement, we’ve found that this browser performs best for ease of access to course material. This browser can be downloaded here.
